[ Process ]

How a project runs.

Four stages, the same whether it is a website build or monthly growth work. No black box.

Every project runs through the same four stages. Warm-up is a proper scoping call to understand what is going on. Build is the planning, design, development and setup. Drop is the launch. Ride it out is the ongoing work afterwards: improvements, reporting and support. You get a fixed quote before the build starts, and you see progress at agreed points rather than hearing nothing until the end.

The four stages

  1. 01

    Warm-up

A scoping call and a fixed quote.

  2. 02

    Build

    Planning, design, development and setup.

  3. 03

    Drop

    Final checks, launch and handover.

  4. 04

    Ride it out

    Optional ongoing improvements and reporting.

Warm-up: finding out what is really going on.

A proper scoping call, not a sales pitch.

We ask about the business as well as the brief, so what we suggest fits how you work and what you want to grow.

You come away with a fixed quote before anything starts.

Build: the hard part, done properly.

Planning, design, development and setup: everything that needs to be right before things can run smoothly.

You see progress at agreed points, on a private preview link, not just at the end.

Everything is set up in your name from the start: your domain, your hosting, your accounts.

Drop: launch.

The site or campaign goes live, after final checks and with redirects in place so nothing you already rank for is lost.

You get a handover session, so you know how to run what we have built.

Ride it out: keeping it working.

Ongoing improvements, reporting and support, on a schedule you agree up front.

Reports fit on one page, keep branded and non-branded results apart, and say what did not work as well as what did.

This part is optional. Some clients want monthly work; others want a handover and a number to call.

What we need from youContent and photos from the checklist we send on day one, and sign-off at agreed points.

  • Drop

What you getA live site or campaign, redirects in place, and a handover session.

What we need from youA final check and the go-ahead to launch.

  • Ride it out

What you getA one-page report on whatever schedule you choose, and ongoing improvements.

What we need from youTo tell us what matters most each month. Entirely optional.

[ How long it takes ]

Typical timelines.

The build itself is rarely what slows a project down. Content usually is, which is why the checklist arrives on day one. If you have a fixed launch date, tell us on the first call and we will plan backwards from it.

Questions people ask us

How involved do I need to be?
Less than you might fear, but not nothing. The scoping call needs you properly present, and we will need content, product information and sign-off at agreed points. After that the aim is that you carry on running your business while we do the building. The one thing that reliably slows projects down is waiting on copy and photography, so you get a checklist for that on day one.
What if I do not like the design?
You tell us, early, and we change it. Design review happens before development starts, precisely so changes are cheap rather than expensive. You get revisions at that stage as standard. What we will not do is keep going in silence and present something finished that you hate, because that wastes your money and our time equally.
What happens if I want to leave?
You leave with everything, because it was always yours. The domain, the hosting, the site, the analytics and the ad accounts are all in your name from day one. We work as a user on your accounts, so you remove our access and that is that. There is no exit fee and no period where we hold something hostage while a contract runs down.
Do you offer support after launch?
Yes, and it is optional rather than assumed. Some clients want a monthly retainer covering optimisation, reporting and changes. Others want the site handed over and a number to call when something breaks. Both are fine and we will quote for whichever suits you, rather than pushing a retainer you do not need.
