Analytics and tracking.

Numbers you can trust, in accounts with your name on them.

This is the plumbing underneath everything else: GA4 configured properly, conversion tracking that fires accurately, and ad platform data that agrees with reality. It matters because every other decision rests on it. Broken tracking means months of budget allocated on numbers that were quietly wrong, and it is far more common than anyone admits. Setup is usually a one-off project with an audit first. If you take one thing from this page, go and check whether your conversions are actually recording.

Testing a website on a phone beside a laptop

How do I know if my tracking is broken?

Test it yourself, right now, in about ten minutes.

Complete a purchase or submit an enquiry form on your own site, then check whether it appears in GA4 and in your ad platform within a day. Then compare last month's conversions in analytics against the actual orders or enquiries you received.

If the numbers disagree wildly, they have probably been disagreeing for a long time.

Why does GA4 never match my Shopify numbers?

Some difference is normal and expected: consent settings, blockers, attribution windows and different definitions of a session all cause honest variance.

A gap of a few per cent is life. A gap of forty per cent is a fault.

The important thing is knowing which you have got. Most businesses have never checked, then make budget decisions on the difference without realising it.

Who should own the analytics account?

You, always, and this one has bite.

Analytics and ad accounts created under an agency's ownership mean that leaving costs you every bit of history: the conversion data, the audiences, the seasonal baselines you cannot rebuild.

Go and look at whose email is the owner on your GA4 property. If it is not yours or an employee's, that is worth fixing today, whoever ends up doing your marketing.

[ Check it yourself ]

Three checks you can run today.

No login for us, no audit fee. Each takes a few minutes in your own account.

  1. 01

    Does a conversion actually record?

Submit a form or place a test order on your own site, then watch for it to appear. If it never does, nothing since launch has been measured properly.

    Where: GA4 › Reports › Realtime

  2. 02

    Who owns your analytics?

Check which email addresses have administrator access. Yours, or someone in your business, should be one of them.

Where: GA4 › Admin › Property access management

  3. 03

    Do the numbers agree?

Compare last month's purchases in GA4 with the orders in Shopify. A small gap is normal. A large one is a fault.

Where: GA4 › Reports › Monetisation, then Shopify › Orders

    Tracking audit

What is recording, what is not, and how far your numbers are from reality.

[ How it works ]

From audit to numbers you can trust.

  1. First

    Audit

We check what is recording, what is not, and how far the numbers are from your real orders and enquiries.

  2. Then

    Fix and test

Tracking rebuilt or repaired, with every conversion tested end to end.

  3. After

    Check against reality

A few weeks later we compare the numbers with your actual sales, so you know they hold up.

  4. Always

    In your name

Every account and property ends up owned by you, with us as users.

[ Is it a good fit? ]

Who this suits, and who it does not.

A good fit

  • You spend money on ads and make decisions from the results.
  • Your analytics and your real orders do not match.
  • You are not sure tracking was ever set up properly.

Probably not right yet

  • You only want a rough visitor count. The free defaults may be enough.

[ Cost ]

What it costs.

An audit and fix is a fixed-price project, quoted after a free look at your current setup. Server-side tracking, where it is worth it, is quoted separately.

Questions people ask us

Is this not included when someone builds my website?
It should be, and we include it in our builds, but plenty of sites launch with tracking half-configured or copied from a template and never tested. The tell is a site that has been live for a year with conversion numbers nobody has ever questioned. It costs nothing to verify: submit a form, then look for it in the data. If it is not there, everything you have concluded about your marketing since launch is built on sand.
What is server-side tracking and do I need it?
It is a way of recording events through your own server rather than relying entirely on the visitor's browser, which improves accuracy as browsers and blockers get stricter. Larger e-commerce businesses spending meaningfully on ads usually benefit. Smaller businesses often do not need the extra complexity or cost yet. We will tell you honestly which side of the line you are on, because it is the sort of thing that gets sold on jargon rather than need.
Can you fix tracking without rebuilding my site?
Almost always, yes. Tracking sits on top of the site rather than inside its foundations, so it can usually be repaired or rebuilt without touching the design. That includes migrating from old setups, fixing duplicate conversions, and getting Shopify, GA4 and your ad accounts telling the same story. If someone tells you a full rebuild is required to fix tracking, ask them to explain exactly why, in plain English.
