Terms.
The terms that apply when you work with us.
Fixed quotes, staged payments, your accounts in your name, and plain rules on ownership, liability and ending the work. Your written quote sits alongside these and wins if the two ever disagree.

01About these terms
These terms apply when you hire us. Together with your written quote they form our agreement. If the quote and these terms ever disagree, the quote wins. If you are buying as a consumer rather than a business, nothing here affects your statutory rights.
02Quotes and scope
Quotes are free and fixed for the scope they describe, and are valid for 30 days. If you want to change the scope once work has started, we will agree the cost and any change to the timeline in writing before doing the extra work. No surprise invoices.
03Paying
- Builds: a deposit to book your slot, a second payment at the agreed halfway point, and the balance before the site goes live. Amounts are set out in your quote. Larger projects can be spread further.
- Monthly work: billed monthly in advance. After the first three months, either of us can stop with 30 days' notice.
- Invoices are due within 14 days. If an invoice is overdue we may pause work until it is paid, and we may charge interest and costs under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
- The deposit reserves time in our schedule and is non-refundable once work has started.
04Costs you pay directly
Ad spend, domain registration, hosting and any app, plugin or software subscriptions are not in our price. They go in your name and on your card, and we never mark them up. Those providers' own terms and prices apply, and we are not responsible for their changes or outages.
05What we need from you
Content, access to the accounts we need, and feedback and sign-off at the agreed points. Timelines depend on these arriving when planned. If a project is paused at your end for more than 60 days, we may invoice for the work done so far and agree a new start date.
You confirm that you have the right to use anything you give us, such as text, photos and logos, and that the claims about your products and business are accurate and lawful.
06Who owns what
Your domain, hosting, analytics and ad accounts are in your name from day one. Once you have paid in full, you own the design, the content we write for you and the code we write specifically for your project.
We keep ownership of our general tools, code libraries and know-how, and you have a permanent licence to use them as part of your site. Third-party themes, plugins, apps, fonts and stock images stay under their own licences. We may show the work in our portfolio, unless you ask us not to.
07Results
We work with reasonable skill and care, and we report honestly. We cannot guarantee search rankings, traffic, ad performance or sales, because they depend on things outside anyone's control, including search engines, ad platforms and the market.
08After launch
If something we built does not work as agreed, tell us within 30 days of launch and we will fix it free of charge. After that, support and changes are covered by monthly work or quoted separately.
09Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow to be limited. Otherwise, our total liability is limited to the fees you paid for the project concerned, or for monthly work, the fees paid in the three months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect losses, or for loss of profit, revenue, business or data.
10Confidentiality and data
We keep your business information private and use any access you give us only for the work. You can remove our access whenever you like, and we recommend doing so when a project ends.
Where we handle personal data on your behalf, such as your customers' details in your store, we do so only on your instructions, and we will sign a data processing agreement if you need one. Our privacy policy explains how we handle data about you.
11Ending the work
Either of us can end the agreement in writing if the other seriously breaks it and does not put it right within 14 days of being asked. If a build ends early, you pay for the work done up to that point, and we hand over everything completed once that is paid.
12Using this website
The content on this site is general information, not advice for your particular situation. We try to keep it accurate and up to date. We are not responsible for the content of the external sites we link to. The site's design, text and images belong to us or are used under licence, so please do not copy them wholesale.
13The law that applies
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales deal with any dispute. We would always rather sort a problem out by talking first.
